Lucca Comics, the Summer Festival and the Walls: the area’s calendar
Tripcare sets the houses of the Lucca plain on two peaks the rest of Tuscany lacks: the Summer Festival between June and July, with single high-demand nights and timed transfers, and Lucca Comics & Games at the end of October, five nights of full occupancy out of season half an hour from the Walls.
The villas sit on the hills of Capannori and towards Bagni di Lucca, twenty minutes from the Walls and half an hour from Pisa airport; the walled centre is a ZTL and the park-and-ride car parks are the rule during the big events. The team from Poggibonsi takes about an hour and twenty minutes, which is why routine maintenance here is entrusted to local suppliers coordinated by the area contact.
Outside the events Lucca works with guests who want a real city, not a village: shorter stays, bikes on the Walls, trips to the Versilia and the Apuan Alps. The statement and the rules are those of every zone.
