Luxury villas for rent in San Gimignano

You can recognise San Gimignano’s towers from miles away: the “Medieval Manhattan”, a UNESCO site commanding the Val d’Elsa with a skyline unlike anywhere else on earth. Around it, a landscape of Vernaccia vineyards — Tuscany’s oldest and most celebrated white wine — olive groves, and roads that reach Volterra in twenty minutes, Siena or Florence in forty. It is the perfect base for having it all: a living town in the evening, the art cities within day-trip reach, and the return to your villa once the tour buses leave and the towers belong to the locals — and to you.

What the houses here are like

The offering here is stone farmhouses among the vineyards with tower views — the picture you see from the pool is the postcard one — and manor villas in the Val d’Elsa countryside. This being our home turf, it is also where our portfolio runs deepest: from houses for two families to farmhouses for large groups, nearly always with a private pool and generous outdoor space.

Book with the people who manage the houses directly

Tripcare’s operational base is in Poggibonsi, ten minutes from San Gimignano: no area do we cover more closely. Direct management of every villa, in-person check-in, immediate maintenance, and a concierge playing at home — Vernaccia tastings in the cellar, tables at the right restaurants, shortcuts to see the towers without the queue.

Airports, trains and roads

Florence and Pisa airports are both about an hour’s drive; by train, alight at Poggibonsi (Empoli–Siena line), fifteen minutes from the villas. Location is the area’s great logistical advantage: Siena, Florence, Volterra and Chianti are all under an hour away, so you can do one art city a day and still be back at the pool every evening.

What guests ask us

Is San Gimignano a good base for exploring Tuscany?

One of the best: Siena and Florence are about 40 minutes away, Volterra 20, Chianti borders the area and Pisa is an hour. You sleep in the most photogenic countryside of the Val d’Elsa and reach every art city as a day trip, without ever changing base.

What is San Gimignano like in the evening, once the tourists leave?

That is its finest hour. The day groups leave in the late afternoon and the town returns to its residents: quiet squares, golden light on the towers, an unhurried trattoria dinner. Our villas are minutes from the centre — it is worth coming back after sunset.

What experiences can be arranged in the area?

Vernaccia tastings in cellars among the vines, truffle hunting with dogs, in-villa cooking classes, guided visits of San Gimignano and Volterra, e-biking on the gravel roads, and dinners by a private chef. All booked by our concierge, included with your stay.

Do the villas have tower views?

Several do: the countryside around the town rises gently and many farmhouses face the tower skyline from the pool and garden. Tell us at enquiry stage if the view is a priority: we will propose the houses that genuinely offer it, with no listing exaggeration.
