Chianti Classico Expo

The Chianti Classico Expo fills Piazza Matteotti, Greve’s triangular square, for a September weekend: dozens of Black Rooster producers pour at the counter for visitors with a glass and a tasting booklet, while the surrounding streets host talks, music and the street food of the territory. It is the oldest wine fair in Chianti and comes just before the harvest, when the hills are at their best.
Guests staying in a villa between Greve, Panzano and Castellina reach it in a few minutes; parking in the village is the problem, a driver the solution. The concierge pairs the Expo with a visit to a single cellar in the following days, so the week does not become a tasting marathon.
