Benvenuto Brunello is the annual preview of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino: in November the producers present the new Brunello vintage and the Riserva to the press, the trade and, on dedicated days, the public, and the vintage tile is unveiled on the wall of the town hall. It is the moment when Montalcino is full of wine merchants and journalists from all over the world.
For the villas of the Val d’Orcia it is the week that keeps the season open until the end of November: wine tourists and wine professionals who want to sleep among the vines, not in a hotel, and visit two cellars a day. The concierge books tastings, a driver and dinner; only houses with a fireplace and working heating do the work.
