Distances in Tuscany deceive: forty kilometres of gravel road and hairpins are an hour, not twenty minutes, and a GPS will happily lead a hire car into a restricted traffic zone in Florence or Siena, with the fine arriving at home months later. That is why we treat transfers as part of the stay, not as an extra. From Florence, Pisa or Rome airport a driver waits with your name on a card and already knows where the villa is, because he has been there. For days out, a chauffeured car lets a cellar lunch end with one more glass; for those who prefer to drive, we deliver the hire car to the villa and point out the right car parks outside the restricted zones. Schedules with margin, always: a missed train at Chiusi costs a whole day.
Transfers & car rental
A driver at the exit of Florence Peretola, Pisa or Santa Maria Novella station, with the name and the flight’s waiting time. A car or van according to luggage and child seats. The journey is the first contact with the villa: no tired car hire after eight hours of travel, no wrong ZTL. The return is booked together, with margin on the airport check-in.
